Hanne Marrott-Alpers: Is our water safe in your hands, 2013 Photographic print on paper
Hanne Marie Marrott-Alpers is a landscape artist who works with Mixed Media, Pencil and ink drawing, and natural materials. This artwork was a major land installation to talk about our land resources in this dry-semi-desert country, in an optimal way for all inhabitants of this country. The installation is made out of materials from Omaruru river; the blue flags represent the water of Hentiesbay and Swakopmund coming from the river. The installation consists of the shark fin that represents the current mentality of the human being as water users – using water without caring how much is available.
