‘Khoengehai’, directly translated means people were here. Homelands have become desolated with migration to the city. It is a place of home where the grandparents settle and grandchildren would be sent during holidays. Memories were made, people spent valuable time together and traditions were passed on from generation to generation. The nostalgia left by the empty homes is testament to the lack of appreciation of our heritage.
