Mobile Exhibition System (MES)
During the past year the NAGN acquired panels that will be used for the Mobile Exhibition System.
This is a partitioning system especially designed to be easily constructed. It can be set up like a mobile gallery and will contain for display carefully selected artworks, which form part of an educational programme for various schools around the country. Pupils and people from different areas can view reproductions of the artworks from the NAGN Permanent collection, as they tour around the country and also receive educational material regarding the exhibition and are guided through it.
This system is versatile and can be moved from school to school and to different regions. The exhibition can be set up for a certain number of days at a hall.
The Junior Curator, who will be travelling to the different regions to present the programme, can also make use of the time to inspect and complete condition reports of the various artworks in the Government Collection.
